You're going to Hawaii for the summer. Or maybe to visit your parents in Maine. An educational trip to Europe, perhaps? It doesn't matter where you're going. You board the plane. It's seem normal enough. You board in California, sit in your seat, open a book or a magazine, have a snack, chat with someone you're with, just pass the time. In the air it still seems normal. Some may notice something odd; the plane heads west, over the ocean. For some passengers that's what they expect, but some were going East, over the country.

It's shrugged off as "I'm on the wrong plane somehow" usually. But a couple hours later the pilot speaks. "We're experiencing some technical difficultly. We will conducting an unscheduled landing. Please stay calm, this is not an emergency." The stewardesses keep the passengers calm, vaguely answering questions. The plane lands on a sandy strip of land which is connected to a fairly small island. Then something very unusual happens again. Everyone is requested to get off the plan and stand in a group on the shore. A murmur rises, but everyone does as told.

Upon leaving, the passengers notice their luggage is set out. The stewardesses are taking their carry-on luggage out, as well. The pilot hovers in the door, an odd smile on her face. "Welcome to Survival Island. You're all going to die here." A small panic rises, anger, fear, protectiveness causing the passengers to yell and shout. The pilot goes on to explain that they are all prey. There is no way off the island. Supplies are limited. And they will be hunted down like animals.

The pilot and stewardesses return to the plane, using a gun to keep the passengers from attempting to board, and then they leave. Everyone is unsure of what to do. Most are in shock, unable to swallow what just happened. It was like a bad dream. Maybe it's a sick reality TV show. As they explore the island, finding animals that do not belong in such a tropical place - wolves, deer, tigers, and much more, and stumbling across people who managed to survive since the last "departure" they realize this is no dream. It's no joke. It's most likely the end.
